Jason L. Groves, Esq.

Jason Groves is Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary for Medifast. Since joining the company in 2009, Mr. Groves has held several executive management roles, most recently serving as Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary. He oversees the Office of the Chairman and the company’s legal team, which consists of compliance, litigation, regulatory and government relations. Mr. Groves previously served as a director of the company from 2009 to 2015, an independent director and member of the Audit Committee from 2009 to 2011 as well as the Executive Committee from 2011 to 2015.
Prior to joining Medifast, Mr. Groves served as Assistant Vice President of Government Affairs for Verizon Maryland, where he was responsible for the company’s legislative policy and government affairs. Mr. Groves is an Army veteran and entered active duty as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. In this position, he also served as a prosecutor in the District Court of Maryland as a Special Assistant United States Attorney. Over the course of three years, he received two Army Achievement Medals and one Army Commendation Medal.
