Medifast, Inc. , a leading portion-controlled weight loss program, today announced that board member Reverend Joseph D. Calderone O.S.A., has been named interim president of Merrimack College, located in North Andover, MA.

Prior to his appointment as interim president of Merrimack College, Rev. Calderone served as the Chaplain of Villanova Law School. Rev. Calderone was named a director of Medifast in November 2003. He formerly spent over eight years with the Loyola University Medical Center as the hospital Chaplain and taught multiple courses including Introduction to the Practice of Medicine and Business Ethics. Rev. Calderone recently retired as a Captain in the US Navy Reserves. He served as the Wing Chaplain for the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing.
