OWINGS MILLS, Md.

Medifast, Inc. announced today that its subsidiary, Consumer's Choice Systems, Inc., has signed a contract with Amazon.com to market its Woman's Wellbeing and UTI brands to Amazon's vast online customer base, which currently exceeds more than 30 million customers around the world. Medifast anticipates that the new online outlet will generate significant revenues within the next year.

"We continue to seek new and innovative ways to expand distribution for our growing line of products," said Brad MacDonald, Medifast's CEO. "As the babyboomers get older, the number of menopausal women increases. Currently, there are over 40 million menopausal women in the United States and that number is expected to keep rising until 2012. We intend to promote our branded products through national advertising which will increase our consumer demand through Amazon."

Last year, Amazon.com began selling products that address women's health concerns. Amazon.com, according to its web site, notes that "We handpick quality conventional and alternative health solutions such as natural formulas, homeopathic remedies, over-the-counter medicine, nutritious food, and exercise accessories -- plus, one of the largest assortments of menopause products on the Web."

"We are excited to be part of the largest retail Internet outlet on the web," says Gary Frank, Executive Vice President of CCS. "Considering that so many women are going online to find medical advice and products, we could not have picked a better avenue."

The Woman's Wellbeing and UTI brand of products will be sold online at full retail prices.
